If you have any information on performance in Wales that could be of use to the project, please get in touch!

Whether you are an artist who has made performance work in Wales, or an audience member who once witnessed a performance (voluntarily or involuntarily!), we would be pleased to hear from you.
Any material will be of interest - from actual pieces of documentation to vague memories of events caught out of the corner of one's eye.

Bydd unrhyw ddeunydd o ddiddordeb - o ddogfennau gwreiddiol i atgofion amwys am ddigwyddiadau a welwyd o gornel y llygad.

Celf Perfformio Prydeinig yn y 1970au a’r 1980au

Interviewee / Cyfwelai: Roger Ely

Roger Ely studied fine art at Leeds in the early 1970s, then one of the most progressive art schools in the country. After graduating, Ely became one of the leading protagonists of British performance art, both as an artist and as a curator. In this conversation Ely shares his memories of the British performance scene of the 1970s, his involvement with Brighton’s Zap Club in the 1980s and his collaborations with the Matchbox Purveyors, especially Ian Hinchliffe, Rob Con and Dave Stephens.

Astudiodd Roger Ely gelfyddydau cain yn Leeds yn y 1970au cynnar a oedd ar y pryd yn un o ysgolion gelf fwyaf blaengar y wlad. Ar ôl graddio, ddaeth Ely yn ffigwr blaenllaw ym myd celf perfformio Prydeinig, fel artist ac fel curadur. Yn y sgwrs hon mae Ely yn rhannu ei atgofion o’r sin berfformio Prydeinig yn y 1970au a’i berfformiadau ar y cyd gyda chlwb Zap Brighton yn yr 1980au a gyda’r Matchbox Purveyors, yn arbennig Ian Hinchliffe, Rob Con a Roger Ely.
